Jeffrey Susla has taught in four schools during his 12-year career. After serving seven years as a high school English educator, he now teaches seventh-grade language arts at Woodstock Middle School, in Woodstock, Conn.

Susla's fellowships and awards include The 21st Century newspaper Educator of the Year (1996); "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" (1996, 1998, 2000); Fulbright Memorial Fund fellow (Japan 1997); and Teaching Excellence Award (Kazakhstan '98). He is a former Peace Corps volunteer and participated in Harvard University's "The Media and American Democracy" Institute in 1998.
