app: Short for application, a program that runs inside another service. Many mobile phones allow apps to be downloaded, leading to a burgeoning economy for modestly priced software. Can also refer to a program or tool that can be used within a website. Apps generally are built using software toolkits provided by the underlying service, whether it is iPhone or Facebook. Taking Ownership: Students Take On Social Networking




Sara Elizabeth Gonzales advises the Legacy (yearbook) and LakeView (newspaper) publication staffs at Cypress Lakes High School in Katy, Texas. She earned her bachelor's degree in mass communications at Texas State University. Prior to teaching, she worked at the William J. Clinton Foundation in Little Rock as an intern to the executive director and was the personal photographer for former President Clinton. She currently teaches yearbook, newspaper, photojournalism, desktop publishing and introduction to journalism.

Gonzales is an avid Yankees fan, and even has partial season tickets. When she’s not taking care of an injured back, she enjoys running a cool 26.2 miles.

Gonzales attended the 2011 Reynolds Institute at Arizona State University, Phoenix.
