Media's Impact: In what ways and how fully do the media shape public opinion, debate, and policy?
Conway has taught government, economics and global studies since 1995 at Charlevoix High School in Charlevoix, Mich., a small resort town on the east coast of Lake Michigan and west coast of Lake Charlevoix.
She writes monthly legislative updates for the State House of Representative’s Civics Commission and hosts an annual Civics Commission legislative hearing at the high school. Her main educational objective is to convince students of the importance of civic engagement.
Conway graduated from Kalamazoo College with a bachelor’s degree in political science and completed her master’s degree in education/history in 2003 from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
In the summer of 2003, she attended Harvard University’s Media and American Democracy summer institute and since that time has emphasized in all of her classes media’s essential responsibility in a democratic society.
