Conducting the “Orchestra:” How to Implement Maestro




Mastin has taught since 2003 at her alma mater, Farrington High School in Honolulu.

Prior to her return to her old stomping grounds, she taught at James Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, for six years. She also tried her hand at being a resource teacher for the Hawaii State Department of Education for a year.

Mastin earned her bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in English from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1995. In 2004, she completed the ASNE High School Journalism Institute at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.

She currently lives in Honolulu with her husband, Jim, and stepson, Jordan.
