Getting the Straight Scoop




Meyer currently teaches English and journalism at Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, R.I., and has taught a variety of grade levels and classes at Portsmouth High for the last since 1990. She also advises the school's award-winning newspaper, The Patriot Ledger.

She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Denver and another in physical education from the University of Minnesota. She earned her master’s degree from Rhode Island College with a specialization in integrating core high school subjects with English. Meyer attended the 2002 Media and American Democracy class at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

She enjoys playing sports, reading, and traveling.
