An overview: The characteristics of news writing




Hardin is an assistant professor of mass communications at the State University of West Georgia. She has been active in an ASNE partnership, started in 2002, involving Bowdon High School, the Times-Georgian, and the State University of West Georgia.

She has experience working for newspapers and magazines, and she finished her Ph.D. in Mass Communications at the University of Georgia in 1998. She has also been involved with scholastic journalism programs by conducting workshops for area high schools.

She said she loves high school journalism because that's where she learned her love of journalism. Her favorite teacher was Karen Collins, her newspaper adviser.
