Suzanne Kreiter of The Boston Globe is the recipient of the 2007 ASNE Community Service Photojournalism Award.
Kreiter originated the Globe's first photo column in 1996 with a two- year project in which she documented the daily travails of the Boston Police. Her current photo column, The City Seen, lets readers smile, laugh and think.
Kreiter joined the Globe in 1985 and covered events ranging from the Nicaraguan civil war to pollution behind the Iron Curtain to the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest.
In 1992, she was awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for Outstanding Coverage of the Problems of the Disadvantaged.
