Dan Keating is a database editor for The Washington Post, where he uses computers, online databases and other electronic methods to do journalism that often isn't possible any other way.
Before landing at the Post, Keating worked at The Miami Herald and The Berkshire Eagle in Pittsfield, Mass. He wasn't a journalism major in college: Keating earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Williams College.
His awards speak volumes about his work: part of a Pulitzer Prize winning team for investigative reporting in 1999; part of a team that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting in 1998; part of a team National Headliner Award for investigative reporting in 1999; and a Selden Ring Investigative Prize runner-up in 1998.
