ASNE will pay you $25 if you send us a link to a current qualified U.S. high
school newspaper or broadcast program that we aren't already linked to.
Here are the rules:
- In an e-mail, you must send your name, address, phone number, the school
the link is to and the link itself. If you send us the link without
the contact information we will add the link and not pay you.
- The link must be to a working, official U.S. high school newspaper or broadcast program Web site. It could
also be to a news magazine.
- There must be news content on the site. A page ABOUT a newspaper or broadcast program isn't
good enough.
- The content in the newspaper or broadcast program must be six months old or less at the time
you submit the link.
- The content must be by students for students. So a newsletter by the
district or school is not acceptable.
- Video content must be more than morning announcements by students. That is the video equivalent of a newsletter.
- The newspaper or broadcast program must have its own page. (The
reason we don't accept others is because it's impossible to keep
up with them as the editions/programs change.)
- It cannot be a link off the front
page of the high school site. (Example: A school paper is posted,
but is only accessible from the front page -- to MayNewspaper.pdf).
- It
cannot be a link to a PDF of the newspaper or a specific broadcast of the broadcast program.
- We must not have linked to the site from our master list already. See
that here.
You can send as many as you want per e-mail. All e-mails should go to cbranson@asne.org.
The subject should be Online News Links.
If you send in links and don't hear from us for two weeks, please contact
us again. We check each and every link.
If you follow these procedures we will pay you $25 per link. The limit we
will pay is $599 per calendar year.
